Lawrence Howard is originally from New York and has been a storyteller since he began to learn and tell the Yukon ballads of Robert W. Service at the age of 10. His serious interest in story was kindled several years ago when he first attended the National Storytelling Festival in Jonesborough, Tennessee. His muscial talents were awakened in 2001 and frequently he adds music to his storytelling performances. Lawrence also performs as a member of the Wood Vibrations marimba band. He has a special love of Yiddish folktales, epic narrative and Americana. | |
